WMGM 40 - Linwood, NJ

When WMGM TV 40, an independent NBC television affiliate in Linwood, New Jersey, decided to make the move from an analog to a digital environment, they chose TI Broadcast Solutions Group to design and build their new system. The station’s goals for their new system were to provide a better signal to more viewers’ homes, improve operating efficiency, and facilitate providing local and syndicated content outside of prime time programming hours. WMGM wanted a staged implementation of their new system that will ultimately allow the station to offer viewers high-definition (HD) programming.
TI Broadcast Solutions Group worked with the station’s director of engineering, first as a consulting and system design organization to identify issues and plan both space utilization and equipment, then as an engineering and integration resource to implement the plans.
The first phase of this ongoing project, now in progress, is a multi-format tapeless master control system and DTV build out. When this phase is complete, WMGM will be able to access digital programming provided by two cable and two satellite sources and insert local programming and advertising quickly and easily.
